\section{How do I change the colors of links?}
The color of links can be changed to your liking using:
{\small\verb!\hypersetup{urlcolor=red}!}, or
{\small\verb!\hypersetup{citecolor=green}!}, or
{\small\verb!\hypersetup{allcolor=blue}!}.
\noindent If you want to completely hide the links, you can use:
{\small\verb!\hypersetup{allcolors=.}!}, or even better:
{\small\verb!\hypersetup{hidelinks}!}.
\noindent If you want to have obvious links in the PDF but not the printed text, use:
{\small\verb!\hypersetup{colorlinks=false}!}.

\chapter{Conclusion}
\label{ch:Conclusion}
Guided by the conviction that technology can be empowering for everyone if used properly as much as it can reinforce inequalities when used badly, I have tried to provide an analysis of the link between empowerment, \ac{PGIS} and new technologies. Although slightly technical, the analysis came down to simple conclusions.
Firstly, there should be more cross-disciplinary partnership between development practitioners, \ac{HCI} experts and the OpenSource community with the development of platforms for improved communication. Participants to participatory mapping should also be involved. Secondly, there is a huge potential for using extensively open source solutions for they are free, based on interesting principles and could provide participants with widely sought for programming skills. However, without the mentioned partnership and careful thinking, \ac{OSS} might result in being useless or even harmful for empowerment. Thirdly, a framework for assessing the use of \ac{IT} tools has been proposed. Fourthly, the importance of training and integration of participants in web-communities and forums is reaffirmed.
These principles have been illustrated by a case study in Ladji, Benin; it included an long training phase and was a relevant and useful example.
This dissertation tried to make a modest contribution to a subject that is critical to successful development by identifying axes of future research and stressing out the need for an understanding of the different technological tools available for participatory mapping. The 21st century will be technological or will not be at all, we cannot afford to ignore it.
